marijuana statistics use by Colorado adults, adolescents data, infographic 2014-2015

2014 and 2015 survey data describe adult and adolescent marijuana use.

New data show 13.4 percent of Colorado adults (ages 18 and older) and 21.2 percent of adolescents surveyed in 2015 reported current use of marijuana. Current use is defined as having used in the past 30 days. New data this year include method of use.

Demographic data collected include the following:

  • age,
  • sex,
  • race / ethnicity,
  • income,
  • education,
  • sexual orientation (gay, lesbian, bisexual - GLB), and
  • location (county and region).

Statistics about exposure to children in the home were analyzed as well.

Also presented in the infographic is a timeline of the legalization of marijuana (medical and recreational) in the state. Dates of the citizen ballot initiatives, the enactment of laws and the opening of retail outlets are displayed.
